5 Things To Do This Weekend

weekendThe weekend is knocking on the door, my dear not perfect housewives. It’s time to relax, take a break or do all the things you couldn’t do during the working days.

Make your hair and nails done, go to a restaurant with friends or escape the city and take a little vacation – it’s up to you. Just free your mind from the work stuff and take care of you and the people you love.

I offer you a list of 5 simple things to do this weekend.

Be sure that on Monday morning you’ll have a huge smile on your face.

Go to a party

I assume you all get up early in the morning every day… except of Saturdays and Sundays. So, why don’t you go to a party on Friday or on Saturday night? You’ll meet some friends you haven’t seen in a while, have a drink or two and dance. It’s a great way to relax and say “goodbye” to the stressful week. After a couple of hours spent dancing you’ll go to bed in a great mood. If you are not keen on dancing, you can just meet friend for a drink or two and have a chat. When you don’t have to get up at 7 a.m. in the next morning, you can enjoy your friends company till late.

Watch a nice movie

If you’re not a party person, you can stay home on Friday night and have a delicious dinner and a glass of wine with person you love. If you are a movie maniac you can make a Movie night with friends and watch a couple of films. The Oscar Nominees were announced yesterday. I’ve already watched Gravity and Blue Jasmine and I’m planning to catch up with the other movies in the weekend. I read great reviews about The Wolf of Wall Street and I’m going to start with it.

Escape from the city

Sometimes there’s nothing better than a little escape. If you can afford it, go for a 2-days vacation somewhere. Buy a low cost ticket and fly to Milan, Paris, Berlin… If you love skiing, go to the mountain. A weekend vacation will make you feel wonderful. You will be excited the whole week before it – you’ll think what to wear, where to go, what to do visit. When you come back to the reality, you’ll be relaxed and “charged”.

Cook something

When you go to work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. the last thing on your mind when you come back home is cooking, am I right? You are tired, you make a quick meal or order something. We are what we eat, so spend a few hours on Saturday or Sunday making a delicious meal. For some people cooking is a great anti-stress therapy. But, if you’re not one of them and cooking brings you extra stress, just leave it. Go to your favourite restaurant or find a new one and enjoy a meal, cooked by someone else.

Practice sport

If you work in front of the computer all day long from Monday to Friday, the weekend is the time to move your body. I’m talking seriously, I didn’t realize how bad for my health this lifestyle was until I got a non stop headache. I went to the doctor and she told me: “You just need to practice some sport”. As simple as that. I’m not good at group sports like volleyball or basketball, but since I was a child I love riding a bike. So, I bought a lovely vintage pink bicycle and start riding it almost every day. I just came back to my old passion. Find a sport that you like and start practising it every weekend. NB: Cleaning the house doesn’t count, ladies. Hire someone to do it for you and go to the gym.
